Types of Alternative Fuel Vehicles
When shopping for a new EV, it’s important to understand that there are different types of models. First is the full electric model that doesn’t use any gas or have an engine. It runs solely on electricity and doesn’t have any tailpipe emissions. You do need to recharge the battery, which can be done at home or at public charging stations.
The second type of alternative fuel vehicle is a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. A regular hybrid vehicle uses gasoline and battery for power. The battery reduces fuel consumption, making the vehicle more efficient. The battery recharges by driving and regenerating energy from the brakes. A plug-in hybrid, or PHEV, is similar to a regular hybrid, but it has a larger battery that must be plugged in to recharge. You can drive short distances on just the battery to save on fuel usage.

This compact SUV offers an estimated range of 319 miles of range with more than 15 standard safety features.
Chevy Blazer EV
This compact SUV is loaded with features and a 334-mile range with Super Cruise available for hands-free driving assistance.
Chevy Silverado EV
This electric pickup truck combines efficiency with power and up to 478 miles of estimated range. You also get 775 lb.-ft of torque and 12,500 pounds of towing.
Chevy BrightDrop
This commercial electric van comes with up to 272 miles of range and 614.7 cubic feet of cargo room. Haul everything you need with a max payload of 3710 pounds.
