At Maritime Chevrolet, our team is made up of people who care about our customers and our community. This month, we are shining the spotlight on Kristoff Victor, one of our Sales Consultants whose energy, work ethic, and remarkable journey make him one of the most unique members of our team.

Kristoff’s path to the automotive industry is anything but conventional. Born in Haiti, he lived there until the age of 12 before relocating to New York, where he would spend the next several decades building a life full of varied and meaningful experiences. From running a cigar lounge to managing grocery stores, working his way up from car detailer to Detail Manager and Trainer, and eventually managing valet operations across three locations, Kristoff has always found a way to lead, grow, and connect with the people around him.

In 2025, he made Connecticut home, and not long after, he found his way to Maritime Chevrolet. In just seven months with our team, he has already made a lasting impression.

What Drives Him

Ask Kristoff what he loves most about the automotive industry and his answer comes without hesitation: the people.

“I love getting to know new people and building new relationships,” he says. “I love the mystery of never knowing who you’re going to meet next.”

That genuine curiosity about people is rooted in something deeper. Kristoff was raised by a single mother whose selflessness shaped the way he sees the world. “She put her needs before mine, not out of selfishness, but out of love and sacrifice,” he reflects. “In doing so, she taught me that kindness is a choice we can make every day.” That philosophy guides the way Kristoff approaches every customer interaction, every single day.

Proud Moments at Maritime

In his short time with the dealership, Kristoff has already collected some memorable milestones. A standout moment was helping a client purchase a Corvette they had worked 29 years to afford, a sale that meant far more than a transaction. He has also earned recognition as a top New Car Sales Consultant just months into the role, and of course, there was the beloved dealership tradition of getting his tie cut on his very first sale.

He is also trilingual, something that allows him to connect with an even broader range of customers in a meaningful way.

Outside the Showroom

When Kristoff is not at Maritime Chevrolet, you can find him at home with his wife and their cats, making trips to New York to spend time with his mother, or working on his personal vehicles in Bridgeport. He is a car enthusiast through and through, and his dream ride? A C6 Corvette in red.

Kristoff is not just building a career at Maritime Chevrolet. He is building a future. “I plan to be in the business for the rest of my life,” he says. “I have my goals set already.”

Another successful 5k is in the books. The Fairfield Police Sunset 5K, held July 15th, brought together runners, walkers, families, and neighbors for a spectacular night at the beach in support of two outstanding causes. With over 1,000 participants taking on either the scenic 3.1-mile run or the .8-mile walk along Fairfield Beach Road and finishing at the beautiful Jennings Beach, the event was nothing short of a community celebration. T-shirts, food trucks, treats for the kids, and refreshments for adults of age made for a festive atmosphere that captured everything great about summertime in Fairfield.

All proceeds from the event were donated to two incredibly worthy organizations: the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund and the Fairfield Police Foundation.

The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund, established in 2014, awards scholarships to children of Fairfield Officers as well as students at Fairfield’s public high schools and several area schools including Fairfield Prep, Notre Dame, Fairfield Ludlowe, and Fairfield Warde. Many of these scholarships are awarded in honor of the late Judge Dan Caruso, a meaningful tribute to a beloved member of the community.

The Fairfield Police Foundation, founded in 2021, raises and distributes funds to the Fairfield Police Department for equipment, wellness programs, and training that fall outside the municipal budget. The foundation also provides critical support to the town’s K-9 Unit, covering the care and costs of the dogs that serve alongside our officers every day.

This year’s event also featured the 2nd Annual Sock It to Summer Drive, a sock donation initiative benefiting Nourish Bridgeport, a community-powered nonprofit creating long-term solutions for food and resource insecurity in our area. Socks are the number one most requested item by shelters and community support programs, and the response from the Fairfield community was tremendous.

Nourish Bridgeport does extraordinary work every single week, including distributing groceries and essentials to over 3,000 neighbors weekly, delivering hot meals and fresh produce to more than 250 people every Thursday, and operating Connecticut’s first nonprofit indoor hydroponic farm, which grows fresh, pesticide-free produce to fight food deserts and supply schools and pantries across the region.

Maritime Chevrolet is deeply grateful to be part of a community that shows up the way Fairfield does. Events like the Police Sunset 5K remind us why giving back is so important, and why supporting the men and women who protect our community, the students who represent its future, and the neighbors who need a helping hand is always worth celebrating.

By now you may have seen the bold flag-inspired graphics and blacked-out details of Chevrolet’s Stars and Steel Collection turning heads on the road. But behind every great design is a great designer, and the story of how this collection came to life is one worth telling.

Adam Barry, Senior Creative Exterior Designer for the GM Performance Studio, is the man behind the Stars and Steel Collection. Tasked with creating a design theme that celebrated American craftsmanship and the nation’s 250th anniversary across five very different vehicles, Barry faced a challenge that was as much about restraint as it was about creativity.

“To visually communicate American technology, horsepower, and restraint, while not slathering on too much red, white, and blue,” is how Barry described his goal. The result is a collection that feels bold and patriotic without ever crossing into the obvious.

It turns out Barry may have been the perfect designer for the job. Born in Cherry Hill and raised in Marlton, New Jersey, both suburbs within 13 miles of Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776, Barry grew up taking school field trips to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Just outside Independence Hall stands a statue of Commodore Barry, a Revolutionary War naval officer widely considered the father of the American Navy. His classmates never let him forget the connection.

Making a single design theme work cohesively across the Corvette, Colorado, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD, and Silverado EV was no small feat. Each vehicle has a completely different body structure, hood shape, and proportions. “This motif had to work on so many vehicles and so many different body panels,” Barry said. “It took a lot of time to find the balance, to figure out how to make them all fit together, and it took a design that was very bold and very simple to carry through all that.”

The solution was the flag-inspired stripe package that runs the length of each vehicle, rendered in a tone-on-tone finish. On black vehicles the stripes appear in dark gray, and on white vehicles in a slightly deeper hue, keeping the look sophisticated and purposeful rather than loud.

Barry’s favorite detail in the entire collection is hidden on the Corvette. A stylized American flag incorporates the phrase “1776 to 2026” woven into the design’s bottom line, an element Barry described as “complicated to execute, but something that I knew was possible.” It is subtle enough that many owners may not discover it until they are up close washing the car. Keep your eyes open.

Beyond the stunning design and impressive specs, every Stars and Steel vehicle sold results in a $250 donation to nonprofits supporting America’s veterans. The collection launched in January 2026 at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, where a one-of-one Stars and Steel inspired Corvette ZR1X sold for $2.6 million, with every dollar going to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides mortgage-free homes to families of fallen first responders and builds smart homes for injured veterans.

Some nameplates come and go. Others become part of American history. The Chevrolet Silverado is firmly in the second category, and after more than four decades on the road, it shows no signs of slowing down.

First introduced in 1975 as the premium trim level of the Chevrolet C/K pickup series, the Silverado earned its own model designation in 1999 and has been one of the most trusted names in trucking ever since. Last year, Chevrolet sold more than 580,000 light and heavy-duty Silverados, its strongest sales performance in five years. That works out to 67 Silverados every hour, or one every 54 seconds. The momentum has carried right into 2026, and excitement is already building for the all-new 2027 Silverado, which carries more than 100 years of Chevy truck expertise into its next chapter.

Few people understand what the Silverado nameplate means on a personal level better than Jeff Luke, now Executive Chief Engineer for Global Transmissions, Drive Units, and Racing Propulsion Programs at General Motors. Jeff’s connection to Chevrolet trucks runs deep. His father John started working for GM in 1952 at the Oshawa, Canada plant and stayed for 40 years until his retirement in 1992. Several uncles and cousins worked for GM as well, making Chevy trucks something of a family tradition.

For Jeff, one truck stands out above all the rest: a 1985 Chevy C/K Silverado that he and his father ordered together. “Dad and I ordered it together,” Jeff recalls. “It was finished in two-tone cream and metallic brown, which was a rarer combination than the blue-on-blue or red and cream. We ordered this truck very specifically because it was the premium trim level at the time.”

Positioned at the very top of the C/K lineup above the Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, and Cheyenne variants, the truck came equipped with a 305-cubic-inch V8 and a healthy list of options for the era. Standard features included an AM/FM radio and manual crank windows, with power windows available as an upgrade. Jeff ended up driving it through his years at General Motors Institute, now known as Kettering University, in Flint, Michigan.

Back then, a well-equipped Silverado meant a V8 engine and a power window option. Today, the 2027 Silverado arrives with more than 60 inches of total diagonal digital displays, including an all-new 11.5-inch front passenger screen, along with Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology with segment-exclusive trailering capability. Features that were not even imaginable when Jeff and his father picked up that 1985 truck from the lot.

Jeff looks back on that old Silverado with obvious fondness. “I wish I still had that Silverado,” he says with a grin.

It is that kind of lasting connection between people and their trucks that has made the Silverado what it is today, and what it will continue to be for generations to come.

There are birthday celebrations, and then there is what Chevrolet pulled off on May 23 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With America’s 250th anniversary in full swing, Chevrolet found a fitting way to mark the occasion: putting the most powerful production car in the country on one of the most iconic tracks in the world and blowing out 250 birthday candles with a tire-smoking tribute for the ages.

Behind the wheel of the American-assembled Corvette ZR1X was Corvette Senior Controls and Software Engineer Cody Bulkley, who used the hypercar’s breathtaking performance to extinguish all 250 candles in a display of power and precision on the Indy track.

“Resilience, pride and work ethic of Americans have driven our nation forward for 250 years,” said Scott Bell, Vice President of Global Chevrolet. “For nearly 115 years, Chevrolet has been engrained in America’s story. Corvette has long been a symbol of the American dream, so it is a privilege to celebrate this moment at the Racing Capital of the World.”

The birthday stunt was just one piece of a much larger celebration. Chevrolet has introduced a limited-edition Stars and Steel Collection, a curated lineup of vehicles designed to honor American craftsmanship and purpose-driven patriotism. The collection reflects Chevrolet’s deep roots in this country and its pride in being part of the American story for well over a century. Chevrolet has also revived one of its most beloved taglines, bringing back “See the USA in your Chevrolet” as a tribute to the brand’s 114-year journey alongside the American people.

At the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500, the Official Pace Car was a Corvette ZR1X finished in a bold Arctic White and Admiral Blue stars-and-stripes design inspired by the Stars and Steel Collection. It is a paint scheme that will live in racing history as a lasting symbol of this milestone anniversary.

A Year-Long Celebration

Chevrolet’s tribute to America’s 250th is not a one-day event. Throughout the year, the brand will continue revisiting iconic moments from its own history, drawing a line from Chevrolet’s founding to the present day and celebrating the unique bond between this brand and this country.
