This delivery is a reflection of something Maritime Chevrolet has built over many years of dedicated service to first responders across the region. Maritime Chevrolet of Fairfield is the go-to choice for New England municipalities when it comes to police supply units, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our team specializes in understanding the unique needs of law enforcement and public safety agencies, working closely with cities and towns across New England to deliver the right vehicles at the right value. Our municipal lineup includes police SUVs and pickup trucks, the first pursuit-rated Silverado Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV), Special Service Vehicles (SSV), and a growing selection of electric vehicle options built specifically for law enforcement duty. The Chevrolet Blazer EV PPV is a groundbreaking vehicle that brings together proven police performance engineering and the latest in electric vehicle technology. Purpose-built for the demands of law enforcement, it features skid plates, police-rated tires, and front Brembo brakes, all paired with EV capabilities that position any police force for a cleaner, more efficient future on the road. Maritime Chevrolet also works with GM Financial to offer municipal lease programs designed with public entities in mind. Under this structure, payments are based only on the useful life of the vehicle, are typically included as a line item in the operating budget, and are not considered debt. It is a straightforward, cost-effective approach that helps municipalities manage both upfront and long-term maintenance costs. Is your department or municipality due for an upgrade? Contact Maritime Chevrolet of Fairfield to learn how we can help simplify the process and put the right vehicles to work for your community.

The Return of an EV Favorite: Meet the Chevrolet Bolt

A few years ago, during the rapid rise of electric vehicles, the Chevrolet Bolt and its sibling helped make EV ownership more accessible than ever. But the story didn’t end there. Behind the scenes, Chevrolet was already developing the next chapter — and now the all-new 2027 Bolt is ready to make its return. At Maritime Chevrolet, we’re excited to see this popular EV come back with meaningful upgrades while staying true to its mission: delivering affordable electric driving for everyday drivers. While the new Bolt’s exterior design will feel familiar to fans, resembling the previous Bolt EUV, the real transformation lies beneath the surface. The 2027 model features updated front and rear styling along with new electrical architecture and a more efficient electric powertrain that gives the Bolt a fresh start. One of the biggest improvements comes in charging capability. Earlier versions of the Bolt were limited to relatively slow fast-charging speeds, but the new model adopts a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that dramatically improves performance. The 65-kWh battery can now accept up to 150 kW of fast-charging power, allowing drivers to charge from 10% to 80% in about 25 minutes. It also includes a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, giving drivers access to a broader charging network. The Bolt’s electric motor has also been upgraded, borrowing technology from the Chevrolet Equinox EV. The result is 210 horsepower, slightly more than the previous model, along with improved acceleration thanks to revised gearing. Inside, the cabin receives a modern refresh with a redesigned dashboard, a customizable digital instrument cluster, and a larger 11.3-inch infotainment display powered by integrated Google technology. Built-in apps provide navigation and music streaming, with eight years of data included to keep drivers connected on the road. Despite the new technology, the Bolt remains focused on value. The 2027 model offers an estimated 262 miles of EPA-rated driving range and starts at $28,995, making it one of the most affordable electric vehicles available today. For drivers who want additional comfort and style, the RS trim adds heated and ventilated seats, blacked-out accents, a heated steering wheel, and other premium touches. Even better, Chevrolet’s advanced Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is available on both trims, making the Bolt one of the most affordable ways to experience this cutting-edge feature. The Bolt’s return proves that electric vehicles don’t have to be expensive to be capable, practical, and fun to drive. At Maritime Chevrolet, we’re excited to see how the next generation of this fan-favorite EV continues to make electric driving more accessible than ever.

Chevrolet Reveals Corvette CX and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concepts

Chevrolet gave enthusiasts a bold look at the future of performance, unveiling two dramatic Corvette concept cars, the Corvette CX and Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo, during The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California. While these concepts are not intended for production, they signal the next chapter in Corvette’s design language and performance philosophy, drawing on over 70 years of heritage while pushing toward an electrified, high-performance future. “These concepts demonstrate our design teams stepping away from production constraints and unleashing their creativity,” said Phil Zak, executive design director for Chevrolet. “Each crease and line has roots in Corvette generations past, while defining the design direction moving forward.” Designed and built at Chevrolet’s Performance Studio in Warren, Michigan, the Corvette CX is a low, wide, all-electric supercar delivering over 2,000 horsepower through four motors with all-wheel torque vectoring. Active aerodynamics, including a Vacuum Fan System for massive downforce, are paired with a fighter-jet-inspired canopy and a driver-focused cabin finished in Inferno Red ballistic textiles, carbon fiber, and aluminum. A digital windscreen display integrates real-time performance data directly into the driver’s line of sight. Building on the CX platform, the CX.R VGT is a pure competition car — lighter, lower, and designed exclusively for the track. It pairs three electric motors with a 900-horsepower, 15,000-rpm V8 running on renewable e-fuel, for a combined output of 2,000 hp. Its aggressive aero package, raw carbon interior, and racing-focused cockpit bring Corvette’s GT racing heritage into a new era. Chevrolet partnered with Polyphony Digital Inc. to bring both concepts into Gran Turismo 7 later this month, allowing fans to virtually experience Corvette’s bold vision for the future.

2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Max Range WT Breaks World Record

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Max Range Work Truck has made history. With an EPA-estimated range of up to 493 miles, this all-electric powerhouse just shattered the world record for distance traveled on a single charge, going an incredible 1,059.2 miles during a recent GM engineering range test. The previous record of 749 miles, set by Lucid earlier this summer, now stands in the rearview mirror. more The challenge began as a casual conversation among GM engineers in late 2024: how far could the Silverado EV go if every element was optimized for efficiency? Estimates ranged from 800 to 1,000 miles, and soon the team was putting their theories to the test. Using a production Silverado EV Max Range WT, the engineers drove on public roads near GM’s Milford Proving Ground, taking one-hour shifts to fit the experiment into their regular work schedules. The truck’s hardware and software remained stock, but the team made small, owner’s-manual-approved adjustments to maximize range—optimizing tire pressure and wheel alignment, reducing weight, using a tonneau cover for smoother airflow, and maintaining steady speeds between 20–25 mph. The test was conducted under real-world conditions, wrapping up on Detroit’s Belle Isle. No passengers, no climate control, and no gimmicks—just careful driving, thoughtful adjustments, and optimal summer temperatures for battery performance. “The achievement is a great example of how far our EV technology has come,” said Kurt Kelty, GM Vice President of Battery, Propulsion, and Sustainability. “It takes deep integration across battery chemistry, drive unit efficiency, software, and vehicle engineering.” GM research shows that range is the number one purchase driver for Silverado EV customers. This record-breaking run not only demonstrates what’s possible with today’s EV technology, but also provides valuable data that will help GM continue to push boundaries in electric vehicle innovation. The engineers even celebrated the accomplishment by using the same record-setting truck to power a 3D printer—and print a trophy to commemorate the drive. The 2026 Silverado EV Max Range WT now stands as the range leader among electric trucks, proving that with the right engineering and determination, the limits are meant to be redefined.

Reasons Why You Should Consider Going Green for Your Next Vehicle

If you’ve been considering making the switch to an electric vehicle (EV), there’s never been a better time to take the leap. Whether you’re eyeing a brand-new model or a reliable pre-owned option, EVs deliver remarkable value, lower ownership costs, and an exceptional driving experience. Let’s take a closer look at the reasons why choosing an EV today makes so much sense: Significant Cost Savings One of the most compelling reasons to buy an EV, especially a pre-owned one, is the incredible cost savings. Today’s used EV market offers unbeatable value, with average prices hovering around $33,645. That’s nearly half the price many models commanded during their peak in 2022. And the savings don’t stop there. If you’re purchasing a used EV priced under $25,000, you could be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $4,000, making your investment even more affordable. Combined with lower fuel costs compared to gasoline vehicles, EVs offer long-term financial benefits that are hard to ignore. Low Maintenance & Long Battery Life Electric vehicles are engineered for simplicity and durability. Because they have fewer moving parts than traditional gas-powered cars, EVs experience less wear and tear. That means fewer trips to the shop for oil changes, exhaust repairs, or transmission issues because EVs don’t need them! Even better, most EV batteries are built to last 10 years or more, and they typically come with robust warranties that cover the battery for 8–10 years. This gives EV owners added confidence and helps keep maintenance costs low over the life of the vehicle. Enhanced Driving Experience From the moment you press the accelerator, you’ll feel the difference an EV offers. Thanks to instant torque, electric vehicles deliver quick, smooth acceleration without the noise or vibration of a combustion engine. The result? A driving experience that’s both quiet and thrilling. Whether you’re navigating city streets or cruising down the highway, EVs provide responsive handling and a level of comfort that enhances every journey. Certified Pre-Owned Peace of Mind If you’re leaning toward a used EV, a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) model can be a smart choice. CPO electric vehicles come with added assurance, including extended warranties, roadside assistance, and comprehensive inspections performed by factory-trained technicians. This means you can drive off with confidence, knowing that your pre-owned EV meets high-quality standards and has been thoroughly vetted for reliability. A Greener Choice for the Future Beyond the personal benefits, choosing an electric vehicle helps support a cleaner, more sustainable future. By driving an EV, you’re reducing your carbon footprint, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing to improved air quality in your community. Ready to make the switch? Whether you’re interested in a new EV or want to explore our certified pre-owned selection, our team is here to help you find the right vehicle for your needs and budget. The Chevy BrightDrop: The All-Electric Van that Delivers the Goods

Chevrolet’s vision for a cleaner, smarter future takes a big leap forward with the 2025 BrightDrop, a battery-electric cargo van engineered specifically for last-mile delivery needs. First revealed by General Motors at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show, BrightDrop has steadily generated buzz. Now, with public sales open, these innovative electric vans are ready to hit the road in greater numbers. The BrightDrop 400 gets its name from its impressive cargo capacity — 400 cubic feet of space and a maximum payload of 3,710 lbs., all on a 153-inch wheelbase. Need more room? The BrightDrop 600 variant stretches the wheelbase to 183 inches, offering 600 cubic feet of cargo volume with a slightly lower payload capacity. Chevrolet offers two battery options to suit your delivery routes: Max Range Battery with up to 272 miles combined city/highway range with all-wheel drive, and Standard Battery with an estimated 193 miles in the city and 151 miles on the highway. These range options help tailor the BrightDrop to various fleet needs, from dense urban deliveries to longer suburban routes. The BrightDrop was designed with commercial efficiency and safety in mind. Delivery Mode streamlines the process. With the press of a button, the van’s cabin lights activate, the bulkhead door unlocks, and (if equipped) power doors on the curbside and bulkhead automatically open when parked — then close and lock when you shift into drive. You can deliver with peace of mind with over 20 standard safety features including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian/cyclist braking, forward collision alert, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree camera system for enhanced awareness. Operators can open/close doors via steering wheel buttons or key fob, minimizing manual effort and improving workflow. Inside, the BrightDrop offers an 11.3-inch infotainment system with built-in Google apps for easy navigation and connectivity. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, though users may find that using BrightDrop’s native Google Maps app provides a clearer directional view than CarPlay’s version. The BrightDrop drives like a true EV — quiet, responsive, and with smooth acceleration.
