Employee Spotlight – Meet Ralph Cascella, Service Manager

Behind every great service department is a leader who sets the tone. At Maritime Chevrolet, that person is Ralph Cascella! As our Service Manager, Ralph brings 38 years of automotive industry experience, an unmatched work ethic, and a genuine passion for the people he serves and everything he does. This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on one of the most dedicated members of our team. A Career Built on Commitment Ralph grew up right here in Trumbull, Connecticut, and after graduating from Trumbull High School, he found his calling in the automotive business. Nearly four decades later, he has never looked back. For the past 20 years, Ralph has called Maritime Chevrolet home, and his dedication to this dealership is the kind that is simply impossible to manufacture. “I treat Maritime Chevy as my own business,” Ralph says. “I go above and beyond what I’m asked.” That is not just a phrase for Ralph. It is a way of operating. He is typically the first one through the door in the morning and the last one to leave at night. In one memorable example of just how far he will go, Ralph once spent the night at the dealership when the highway was closing so that he could get the driveway paved and have the doors open for customers the very next morning. That is the kind of dedication that defines a career. Ask Ralph about his proudest moment at Maritime Chevrolet and his answer is both honest and heartfelt. “Ten years ago, when the dealership changed ownership, they kept me on as their service manager.” For someone who pours as much of himself into his work as Ralph does, that kind of trust and recognition from ownership means everything. He is quick to share his gratitude as well. “I really enjoy my job at Maritime. Thank you to Eric and the Hodge family for all of their support.” That mutual respect between Ralph and the leadership team at Maritime Chevrolet is a big part of what makes our service department the well-run, customer-first operation that it is. When you ask Ralph what he loves most about the automotive industry, the answer has nothing to do with cars. “The relationships that I have built with customers and employees,” he says without hesitation. “And there is a new challenge every day.” After 38 years, that combination of connection and variety is what keeps Ralph as engaged and motivated as ever. Life Outside the Shop Those who know Ralph from his no-nonsense, get-it-done approach at the dealership might be surprised to learn about the softer side he keeps close to home. In the spring and summer, you will find him surf casting along the Connecticut shoreline or out trout fishing with his grandson, Chase. When fall and winter arrive, Ralph trades the water for his tree stand, spending quiet mornings in nature with his thoughts and a great view. And when it comes to what he truly cannot live without? That answer is simple and sincere: his time with his wife Leslie and his grandchildren. His dream car, fittingly for a man who has spent nearly four decades in the Chevrolet world, is a 1966 Chevelle SS 396. Classic, powerful, and timeless, just like Ralph himself. Twenty years of leadership, countless customers served, and a standard of excellence that runs through everything our service department does. We are incredibly grateful to have Ralph Cascella at the helm, and we hope this spotlight gives our customers a chance to appreciate the person who works so hard every day to make sure their experience at Maritime Chevrolet is a great one. Next time you bring your vehicle in for service, take a moment to say hello to Ralph. We have a feeling you will be glad you did!

The Pink Corvette Is Back and Racing for a Cause That Matters

The Pink Corvette Is Back and Racing for a Cause That Matters

Every October, Chevrolet brings one of the most meaningful traditions in motorsport back to the track. The iconic pink Corvette Stingray has returned for 2026, pacing the NASCAR Cup Series field at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway as part of Chevrolet’s ongoing commitment to the fight against breast cancer. This year marks Chevrolet’s 16th consecutive year partnering with the American Cancer Society in support of its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative, and the 2026 campaign is the most expansive yet. This year’s program ties donations to five NASCAR Cup Series races, creating more opportunities than ever before to generate meaningful support for breast cancer research and awareness. Chevrolet will donate $1,500 for each Team Chevy driver who finishes in the top 10 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Phoenix Raceway, Talladega Superspeedway, and Martinsville Speedway, with total donations up to $25,000 across all five events. At Talladega and Martinsville, where the pink Corvette Stingray serves as the official pace car, Chevrolet will also contribute $500 for every caution lap led by the pace car, again up to $25,000. When you add it all together, the potential impact of this year’s campaign is significant. To put that in perspective, in 2025 Chevrolet raised more than $1.7 million for the American Cancer Society, including $32,500 generated directly through the NASCAR campaign. The program has become one of the most visible and impactful charity initiatives in professional motorsport. “Each October, our motorsports platform gives us a powerful opportunity to turn the visibility of NASCAR into meaningful support for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer,” said Alyssa Haba, Senior Manager of Motorsports Marketing and Activation for Chevrolet. “With the pink Corvette Stingray returning to the track and donations tied to five Cup Series races, this year’s campaign creates more opportunities to make an impact and advance the fight against breast cancer.” The pink Corvette Stingray made its 2026 on-track debut at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the South Point 400 on October 4, before returning as the official pace car at Talladega Superspeedway on October 25 and Martinsville Speedway on November 1 for the penultimate race of The Chase. If you have not had a chance to catch it on track yet, Martinsville is your last opportunity to see it in action this season. At Maritime Chevrolet, we are proud to represent a brand that uses its platform to make a real difference in people’s lives. Stop by and see us, and join Chevrolet in supporting the fight against breast cancer this October.

Which All-Wheel-Drive or Four-Wheel-Drive Chevy is Right for You

Which All-Wheel-Drive or Four-Wheel-Drive Chevy is Right for You

Whether you are bracing for a New England winter, hauling gear down a muddy trail, or simply looking for added confidence on wet roads, Chevrolet has a vehicle built for the job. For more than 60 years, GM has been building vehicles with four driven wheels, and the 2026 Chevrolet lineup offers 12 distinct models with available all-wheel or four-wheel drive across trucks, SUVs, EVs, and even a mid-engine sports car. Here is a look at every option and where each one fits. 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS AWD The most affordable entry point into Chevrolet’s AWD lineup, the Trailblazer offers all-wheel drive across four trim levels paired with a turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Compact, capable, and easy to live with every day. 2026 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD The Equinox brings bold styling and generous cargo space to the compact SUV segment. All-wheel drive adds $2,000 to the LT, ACTIV, and RS trims, paired with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an eight-speed automatic for a smooth, confident driving experience in any weather. 2026 Chevrolet Colorado WT 4WD Chevy’s midsize pickup offers four-wheel drive as an option on the WT, Custom, and LT trims, while the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 come standard with it. The ZR2 takes things furthest with a three-inch factory lift, Multimatic DSSV suspension dampers, and a dedicated off-road fascia built for serious trail use. 2026 Chevrolet Blazer 2LT AWD Chevy’s sporty midsize SUV is offered with all-wheel drive across all three trim levels. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder powers the standard AWD setup, with an optional 3.6-liter V6 also available on the RS trim for those who want a bit more muscle. 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV LT 1 AWD The electric Equinox adds a rear axle motor with the AWD option, delivering enhanced traction and performance. The trade-off is a modest reduction in range from an EPA-estimated 319 to 307 miles, but the added confidence in winter conditions makes it a compelling choice for New England drivers. 2026 Chevrolet Silverado LT 4WD America’s best-selling truck offers four-wheel drive across most of its extensive trim lineup. Adding 4WD costs between $3,300 and $4,600 depending on the trim, while performance-focused variants like the ZR2 come with it standard alongside a full suite of off-road hardware. 2026 Chevrolet Traverse LT AWD Chevy’s most affordable three-row SUV pairs a bold exterior with a well-appointed interior and the option of all-wheel drive for $2,000 on most trims. The off-road-tuned Z71 comes with AWD standard, adding skid plates and all-terrain capability for adventure-minded families. 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV LT AWD The Blazer EV’s all-wheel drive option adds a second electric motor for enhanced performance and traction, with the range-topping SS trim coming AWD-only. Bold design and standout technology make this one of the most distinctive EVs in the segment. 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Every Silverado EV comes standard with four-wheel drive, from the base Custom trim all the way to the rugged Trail Boss. Powerful towing capability, advanced technology, and generous cargo space make it one of the most capable electric trucks on the market today. 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe LS 4WD The body-on-frame Tahoe brings three rows, premium appointments, and serious capability to the full-size SUV segment. Four-wheel drive is a $3,000 option on most trims, with the Z71 package adding skid plates, tow hooks, and all-terrain tires for those who venture further off the beaten path. 2026 Chevrolet Suburban LS 4WD The largest SUV in the Chevrolet lineup follows the same formula as the Tahoe, with four-wheel drive available for $3,000 on most trims and standard on the Z71. When you need maximum space, maximum capability, and maximum confidence, the Suburban delivers on all three. 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray For the first time in Corvette history, the E-Ray brings all-wheel drive to America’s sports car. A front-mounted electric motor powers the front axle while the mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8 drives the rear, combining for 655 horsepower and a driving experience unlike anything else on the road. 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X The most powerful Corvette ever built takes AWD to its logical extreme. A hybrid system pairs a front-axle electric motor with a twin-turbocharged V8 at the rear for a combined 1,250 horsepower, delivering performance that rivals the world’s most exotic machinery on both road and track. From the everyday versatility of the Trailblazer to the jaw-dropping performance of the ZR1X, Maritime Chevrolet has the full Chevrolet AWD and 4WD lineup ready for you to explore. Employee Spotlight - Meet Fernando Rodrigues

Employee Spotlight - Meet Fernando Rodrigues

Some people find their calling early and never look back. Fernando Rodrigues, GM Certified Automotive Technician at Maritime Chevrolet, is exactly that kind of person. With a career that spans four decades and a passion for all things automotive that extends well beyond the shop floor, Fernando is one of the most experienced and respected members of our team, and we are thrilled to introduce him to you. Fernando grew up splitting his early years between Lisbon, Portugal and Bridgeport, Connecticut, giving him a unique perspective and a genuine appreciation for the opportunities his career has provided. Fernando's journey in the automotive industry began in 1985 with Chevrolet, making him one of the longest-tenured Chevy technicians you are likely to meet. His formal training includes studies at the Porter and Chester Institute of Automotive Technology and the GM Service Technical College, and he has spent the decades since building on that foundation through hands-on experience and continuous learning. He has been a proud member of the EH Automotive family for 21 years, a testament to the loyalty and dedication he brings to his work every single day. What keeps a technician engaged and motivated after 40-plus years in the business? For Fernando, the answer is simple: the technology never stops evolving.  That curiosity and commitment to staying current is exactly what makes Fernando the kind of technician customers can trust with their vehicles year after year. If you thought Fernando's love of cars stopped at the end of his shift, think again. When he is not in the service bay, you can find him out on the water boating and fishing, cruising on his Harley-Davidson, or doing what might be his most impressive side pursuit: restoring his 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS. He also has a knack for bodywork and paint, a skill that tends to surprise people who know him primarily as a mechanical technician. And his dream garage? A classic 1966 to 1970 Chevelle, a 1969 to 1970 Nova, and a 1970 SS Monte Carlo. In other words, if it is a classic American muscle car from the golden era, Fernando is a fan. One last fun fact he wanted to share? He is much younger than Ralph (our Service Manager). We will leave that one there. Fernando Rodrigues is the kind of team member that every dealership hopes to have: experienced, passionate, customer-focused, and genuinely dedicated to his craft. We are incredibly grateful for his 21 years of service to Maritime Chevrolet and the countless customers he has taken care of along the way. Next time you bring your Chevrolet in for service, there is a good chance Fernando has had a hand in keeping it running at its best. Now you know a little more about the person behind the work. Stay tuned for more employee spotlights celebrating the people who make Maritime Chevrolet what it is!

Maritime Chevy is Proud to Partner with Connecticut United Youth Foundation

At Maritime Chevrolet, we have always believed that being a great dealership means being a great neighbor. That belief is at the heart of our newest community partnership. We are proud to announce that Maritime Chevrolet is partnering with Connecticut United Youth Foundation, Inc. through the Chevy Youth Sports program, a national initiative that positions Chevrolet as the Official Vehicle of Youth Sports while giving local dealerships the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on youth athletics in their communities. Through the Chevy Youth Sports program, Maritime Chevrolet is providing a one-time monetary contribution to Connecticut United Youth Foundation, Inc. to help cover registration fees, equipment costs, facility maintenance, and other administrative expenses that keep youth sports programs running and accessible for local families. For the kids and families in Fairfield, that support translates directly into more opportunities to play, compete, and grow. "Sports can help kids develop skills like leadership, cooperation, and sportsmanship while bringing families and communities together to show their support," said Eric Sandstrom, President of Maritime Chevrolet. "Maritime Chevrolet and Chevy Youth Sports are proud to help Connecticut United Youth Foundation, Inc. bring so many smiles to kids and families in Fairfield. Chevy believes in the power of play as a way for young people to build the skills needed to be successful in the future." The Chevy Youth Sports program is one of the most far-reaching community initiatives in the automotive industry. In 2025 alone, nearly 700 Chevrolet dealerships across the country participated, collectively supporting youth athletic programs in communities from coast to coast. Maritime Chevrolet is proud to be among them, bringing that national commitment to giving back directly to our corner of Connecticut. The partnership with Connecticut United Youth Foundation, Inc. is a natural extension of what Chevrolet vehicles are designed to do every day. "Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built with busy families in mind, featuring a comprehensive suite of available safety features, technologies that make the journey more comfortable and engaging for the entire family, and the space and flexibility needed to haul people and cargo," Sandstrom added. "We encourage everyone to come take a look at what Chevrolet has to offer." Employee Spotlight: Meet Kristoff Victor

Employee Spotlight: Meet Kristoff Victor

At Maritime Chevrolet, our team is made up of people who care about our customers and our community. This month, we are shining the spotlight on Kristoff Victor, one of our Sales Consultants whose energy, work ethic, and remarkable journey make him one of the most unique members of our team. Kristoff's path to the automotive industry is anything but conventional. Born in Haiti, he lived there until the age of 12 before relocating to New York, where he would spend the next several decades building a life full of varied and meaningful experiences. From running a cigar lounge to managing grocery stores, working his way up from car detailer to Detail Manager and Trainer, and eventually managing valet operations across three locations, Kristoff has always found a way to lead, grow, and connect with the people around him. In 2025, he made Connecticut home, and not long after, he found his way to Maritime Chevrolet. In just seven months with our team, he has already made a lasting impression. What Drives Him Ask Kristoff what he loves most about the automotive industry and his answer comes without hesitation: the people. "I love getting to know new people and building new relationships," he says. "I love the mystery of never knowing who you're going to meet next." That genuine curiosity about people is rooted in something deeper. Kristoff was raised by a single mother whose selflessness shaped the way he sees the world. "She put her needs before mine, not out of selfishness, but out of love and sacrifice," he reflects. "In doing so, she taught me that kindness is a choice we can make every day." That philosophy guides the way Kristoff approaches every customer interaction, every single day. Proud Moments at Maritime In his short time with the dealership, Kristoff has already collected some memorable milestones. A standout moment was helping a client purchase a Corvette they had worked 29 years to afford, a sale that meant far more than a transaction. He has also earned recognition as a top New Car Sales Consultant just months into the role, and of course, there was the beloved dealership tradition of getting his tie cut on his very first sale. He is also trilingual, something that allows him to connect with an even broader range of customers in a meaningful way. Outside the Showroom When Kristoff is not at Maritime Chevrolet, you can find him at home with his wife and their cats, making trips to New York to spend time with his mother, or working on his personal vehicles in Bridgeport. He is a car enthusiast through and through, and his dream ride? A C6 Corvette in red. Kristoff is not just building a career at Maritime Chevrolet. He is building a future. "I plan to be in the business for the rest of my life," he says. "I have my goals set already." We are grateful to have Kristoff on our team and cannot wait to see everything he accomplishes in the years ahead. If you have not had the chance to work with him yet, stop by Maritime Chevrolet and introduce yourself. We have a feeling you will be glad you did.

Fairfield Police Sunset 5K

Maritime Chevrolet was a Proud Sponsor the Fairfield Police Sunset 5K

Another successful 5k is in the books. The Fairfield Police Sunset 5K, held July 15th, brought together runners, walkers, families, and neighbors for a spectacular night at the beach in support of two outstanding causes. With over 1,000 participants taking on either the scenic 3.1-mile run or the .8-mile walk along Fairfield Beach Road and finishing at the beautiful Jennings Beach, the event was nothing short of a community celebration. T-shirts, food trucks, treats for the kids, and refreshments for adults of age made for a festive atmosphere that captured everything great about summertime in Fairfield. All proceeds from the event were donated to two incredibly worthy organizations: the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund and the Fairfield Police Foundation. The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund, established in 2014, awards scholarships to children of Fairfield Officers as well as students at Fairfield's public high schools and several area schools including Fairfield Prep, Notre Dame, Fairfield Ludlowe, and Fairfield Warde. Many of these scholarships are awarded in honor of the late Judge Dan Caruso, a meaningful tribute to a beloved member of the community. The Fairfield Police Foundation, founded in 2021, raises and distributes funds to the Fairfield Police Department for equipment, wellness programs, and training that fall outside the municipal budget. The foundation also provides critical support to the town's K-9 Unit, covering the care and costs of the dogs that serve alongside our officers every day. This year's event also featured the 2nd Annual Sock It to Summer Drive, a sock donation initiative benefiting Nourish Bridgeport, a community-powered nonprofit creating long-term solutions for food and resource insecurity in our area. Socks are the number one most requested item by shelters and community support programs, and the response from the Fairfield community was tremendous. Nourish Bridgeport does extraordinary work every single week, including distributing groceries and essentials to over 3,000 neighbors weekly, delivering hot meals and fresh produce to more than 250 people every Thursday, and operating Connecticut's first nonprofit indoor hydroponic farm, which grows fresh, pesticide-free produce to fight food deserts and supply schools and pantries across the region. Maritime Chevrolet is deeply grateful to be part of a community that shows up the way Fairfield does. Events like the Police Sunset 5K remind us why giving back is so important, and why supporting the men and women who protect our community, the students who represent its future, and the neighbors who need a helping hand is always worth celebrating. We look forward to supporting this event again next year and continuing to be an active part of the Fairfield community for many years to come! The Artist Behind the New Stars & Steel Collection

The Artist Behind the New Stars & Steel Collection

By now you may have seen the bold flag-inspired graphics and blacked-out details of Chevrolet's Stars and Steel Collection turning heads on the road. But behind every great design is a great designer, and the story of how this collection came to life is one worth telling. Adam Barry, Senior Creative Exterior Designer for the GM Performance Studio, is the man behind the Stars and Steel Collection. Tasked with creating a design theme that celebrated American craftsmanship and the nation's 250th anniversary across five very different vehicles, Barry faced a challenge that was as much about restraint as it was about creativity. "To visually communicate American technology, horsepower, and restraint, while not slathering on too much red, white, and blue," is how Barry described his goal. The result is a collection that feels bold and patriotic without ever crossing into the obvious. It turns out Barry may have been the perfect designer for the job. Born in Cherry Hill and raised in Marlton, New Jersey, both suburbs within 13 miles of Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776, Barry grew up taking school field trips to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Just outside Independence Hall stands a statue of Commodore Barry, a Revolutionary War naval officer widely considered the father of the American Navy. His classmates never let him forget the connection. Making a single design theme work cohesively across the Corvette, Colorado, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD, and Silverado EV was no small feat. Each vehicle has a completely different body structure, hood shape, and proportions. "This motif had to work on so many vehicles and so many different body panels," Barry said. "It took a lot of time to find the balance, to figure out how to make them all fit together, and it took a design that was very bold and very simple to carry through all that." The solution was the flag-inspired stripe package that runs the length of each vehicle, rendered in a tone-on-tone finish. On black vehicles the stripes appear in dark gray, and on white vehicles in a slightly deeper hue, keeping the look sophisticated and purposeful rather than loud. Barry's favorite detail in the entire collection is hidden on the Corvette. A stylized American flag incorporates the phrase "1776 to 2026" woven into the design's bottom line, an element Barry described as "complicated to execute, but something that I knew was possible." It is subtle enough that many owners may not discover it until they are up close washing the car. Keep your eyes open. Beyond the stunning design and impressive specs, every Stars and Steel vehicle sold results in a $250 donation to nonprofits supporting America's veterans. The collection launched in January 2026 at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, where a one-of-one Stars and Steel inspired Corvette ZR1X sold for $2.6 million, with every dollar going to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides mortgage-free homes to families of fallen first responders and builds smart homes for injured veterans.

A Name Built to Last: The Story Behind the Silverado

A Name Built to Last: The Story Behind the Silverado

Some nameplates come and go. Others become part of American history. The Chevrolet Silverado is firmly in the second category, and after more than four decades on the road, it shows no signs of slowing down. First introduced in 1975 as the premium trim level of the Chevrolet C/K pickup series, the Silverado earned its own model designation in 1999 and has been one of the most trusted names in trucking ever since. Last year, Chevrolet sold more than 580,000 light and heavy-duty Silverados, its strongest sales performance in five years. That works out to 67 Silverados every hour, or one every 54 seconds. The momentum has carried right into 2026, and excitement is already building for the all-new 2027 Silverado, which carries more than 100 years of Chevy truck expertise into its next chapter. Few people understand what the Silverado nameplate means on a personal level better than Jeff Luke, now Executive Chief Engineer for Global Transmissions, Drive Units, and Racing Propulsion Programs at General Motors. Jeff's connection to Chevrolet trucks runs deep. His father John started working for GM in 1952 at the Oshawa, Canada plant and stayed for 40 years until his retirement in 1992. Several uncles and cousins worked for GM as well, making Chevy trucks something of a family tradition. For Jeff, one truck stands out above all the rest: a 1985 Chevy C/K Silverado that he and his father ordered together. "Dad and I ordered it together," Jeff recalls. "It was finished in two-tone cream and metallic brown, which was a rarer combination than the blue-on-blue or red and cream. We ordered this truck very specifically because it was the premium trim level at the time." Positioned at the very top of the C/K lineup above the Custom Deluxe, Scottsdale, and Cheyenne variants, the truck came equipped with a 305-cubic-inch V8 and a healthy list of options for the era. Standard features included an AM/FM radio and manual crank windows, with power windows available as an upgrade. Jeff ended up driving it through his years at General Motors Institute, now known as Kettering University, in Flint, Michigan. Back then, a well-equipped Silverado meant a V8 engine and a power window option. Today, the 2027 Silverado arrives with more than 60 inches of total diagonal digital displays, including an all-new 11.5-inch front passenger screen, along with Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology with segment-exclusive trailering capability. Features that were not even imaginable when Jeff and his father picked up that 1985 truck from the lot. Jeff looks back on that old Silverado with obvious fondness. "I wish I still had that Silverado," he says with a grin. It is that kind of lasting connection between people and their trucks that has made the Silverado what it is today, and what it will continue to be for generations to come. Stop by Maritime Chevrolet to see the latest Silverado lineup and experience firsthand how far America's favorite truck has come. We would love to put you behind the wheel.
