Fairfield Police Sunset 5K
Maritime Chevrolet is proud to be a sponsor of the 1st Annual Fairfield Police Sunset 5k on Wednesday July 25th, at Penfield Beach. This fun-filled family event will include food trucks, activities for the kids, and entertainment. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and a goody bag with their entrance fee. Friends and family are welcome to come and hang out on the beach while participants are completing their events. Non-participants are also encouraged to come out and enjoy the fun with the help of a small donation. Maritime Chevy will be providing the official pace car during the run. Keep a look out for Sales Manager Josh Kestenbaum driving a 2018 Chevrolet Corvette.
All proceeds from the run will benefit The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund and The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities. The Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund was created to benefit the children of the Fairfield police officers. The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities provides services and programs for older adults that promote well being, support independence, and encourage involvement in the fairfield community. See below for more information on both of these organizations.

The Numbers Are In
Maritime Chevy had an amazing time participating in this years March of Babies Walk. With a $136,000 goal, the local March of Dimes Chapter was able to raise $83,695. March for Babies Fairfield was held at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, CT. The the 3.2 mile walk started at 11am. It made its way through the beach neighborhood, past Town Hall, and all the way along Penfield & Jennings Beaches for a flat, paved 5K loop. New activities this year included Superhero Sprint, Mike the Magician, and a Petting Zoo. There were food trucks, fire trucks, a bounce house, and more. This year we were excited to be the official race bag pick up location. We would like to thank everyone who came out for the walk and donated to the cause. We look forward to participating again next year.

The Season Has come To An End
Maritime Chevy is a proud sponsor of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers! So another season has come to an end of the “Chuck-A-Puck” contest. During the second intermission fans had the opportunity to purchase a puck and toss it into the Chevrolet Silverado as it circled the ice. Over the last year, the Chuck-A-Puck event was able to raise over $15,000 for local charities and organizations. “Working with the Sound Tigers was a great opportunity and we are looking forward to next season”, says Eric Sandstrom, Co-Owner/Operator of Maritime Chevrolet.
Crime Stops At Maritime
Maritime Chevrolet would like recognize John Leslie and the Parts Department for assisting the Fairfield Police Department with a sting to catch a group of thieves. Earlier this month we received a call asking to purchase a bumper and a headlight that was priced at about $1,300, using a stolen credit card. The Parts Department immediately cancelled the order and worked with the Police Department when they realized it was a fraudulent purchase. Two days later, 2 men pulled up to the store in a Uhaul looking to pick up the bumper and headlight that was previously ordered. At this point, Maritime called the Fairfield Police Department to notify them that a man had come in. 3 police officers came to the store and arrested both men. Later on that day, the original man who called to order the parts called back to see if his guys had come to pick up the order. Maritime notified the police department that a 3rd man had been involved. When speaking to one of the Maritime employees that helped with the case, he stated that this situation had really hit close to home because just a couple months prior he had been scammed out of $800. He was excited to take a risk and assist in catching the bad guy.
Calling All Educators
Calling All Educators
Did you know Maritime Chevy offers an Educator Discount?
Do you personally know a teacher or professor? If you do, then you know they are some of the hardest working people out there. They help shape the great minds of the future and provide guidance and support to our youth. It’s not an easy job and our educators deserve to be recognized. That’s why at Maritime Chevy, we are offering our support and saying thank you!
In acknowledgement of all the hardworking educators in our community, Maritime Chevy is a proud supporter the GM Educator Discount. This incredible program offers employees of public schools, private schools, colleges or universities the chance to save big on the purchase or lease of a brand new Chevy. Educators can take advantage of things like special financing and special pricing below MSRP. Also, depending on the vehicle, the Educator Discount can be combined with most current offers in order to save even more.
It doesn’t end there! The spouses, domestic partners, dependent children and stepchildren of educators may also be eligible. If you are an educator or a family member of an educator and you would like to take advantage of this program, please call us at (203) 763-4661 and one of our knowledgeable Sales Consultant will gladly send you more information.
Thank you again for all you do!
Devon Toews & Mascot Storm’s Guest Appearance
Don’t miss your chance to take a picture with Devon Toews & Mascot Storm!
For the employees at Maritime Chevy, going to a Sound Tigers game usually means a fun night out with our friends and family, cheering on one of our favorite teams in a show of solidarity, and enjoying some fast-paced hard-hitting action on the ice.
That’s why when we had the opportunity to bring the Bridgeport Sound Tiger’s Devon Toews to Maritime Chevy, everyone at the dealership collectively broke out into song and dance. After all, it’s not everyday you get to meet a literal All-Star.
Just last year, Toews was named to the AHL’s All-Star Classic and won the fastest skater competition in the event’s skills competition. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, in his first professional season, Toews lead the Sound Tigers with 18 assists and ranked second on the club with 22 points in 32 games. He also tied for third among all AHL rookies in helpers and tied for eighth among league defensemen in points.
In short, you’re not going to want to miss this! Bring the entire family and please join us on Saturday, March 31st from 12:00pm – 1:00pm as Mascot Storm and All-Star Defensemen Devon Toews from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers make a major meet and greet appearance at Maritime Chevy!
We’ll see you there!
Puppy Madness at Maritime Chevy
Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Little Black Dog Rescue Event!
Last month Maritime Chevy partnered with Little Black Dog Rescue in an effort to help puppies in the area find a forever home. Little Black Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization that focuses on the rescue, care, and placement of black dogs who are in danger of euthanasia, as well as other dogs who are in immediate need.
We are happy to report that our showroom was filled with dog loves from all over looking to make a difference in the life of a local pup. We can even say that some of the dogs found their forever home that day!
Thank you to everyone who showed up and especially to those who adopted. When you adopt a dog from a rescue, you’re not only saving the life of a dog, you’re also not supporting puppy mills. Puppy mills are factory-style breeding facilities that put profit above the welfare of dogs. Animals from puppy mills are often housed in shockingly poor conditions with improper medical care, and are often very sick because of it.
If you weren’t able to make it out, it’s still not too late to make a difference and support this amazing organization. Please go to http://www.littleblackdogrescue.org for more information about adopting a dog or to make a donation. You can also find out about other events like this one by going to Facebook.com/MaritimeChevy and clicking on the Like button.
We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to help LBD’s important cause and we look forward to partnering with them again in the near future.
