This May, all eyes will be on the front of the grid at Indianapolis Motor Speedway — and a Chevrolet will be leading the way. The 2026 Corvette ZR1X has been selected as the Official Pace Car for the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, taking place Sunday, May 24.

The ZR1X isn’t just a showpiece. With 1,250 horsepower delivered across all four wheels, it combines a 186 hp electric front motor with a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 producing 1,064 hp at the rear. The result? A car capable of hitting 60 mph in under 2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 233 mph — putting it firmly in the company of the race cars it will lead.

For Pace Car duty, the ZR1X is outfitted with the full Carbon Aero package, complete with dive planes, underbody aero strakes, and a rear wing generating more than 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed. This is no ordinary pace car.

Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary

The livery is as striking as the performance. Designed alongside the Stars and Steel Collection, the ZR1X features a bold stars-and-stripes treatment with a unique twist: the car appears Arctic White from the driver’s side and Admiral Blue from the opposite profile. A painted stripe runs the full length of the carbon fiber spine on the rear hatch, and the interior carries the theme through with Santorini Blue seats, red accent seat belts, and red stitched floor mats.

“Every element was deliberately crafted to honor this milestone while expressing a forward-looking vision of Chevrolet design,” said Chevrolet Global Executive Design Director Phil Zak.

Leading the field of 33 drivers to the green flag will be Indiana University Head Football Coach Curt Cignetti, honored for guiding IU Football to an undefeated National Championship season. It’s a fitting tribute to a historic year in Indiana sports.

The 2026 race marks the 37th time Chevrolet has paced the Indianapolis 500, dating back to 1948, and the 23rd time for the Corvette specifically. No other car has paced “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” more often, and with good reason. The Corvette is the longest-running nameplate in automotive history, and it continues to represent the very best of American performance and craftsmanship.

When most people think of diesel, they think loud, smoky, and rough around the edges. The 3.0L Duramax inline-six is here to change that perception. Available across GM’s full-size truck and SUV lineup, this engine has quietly built a loyal following by delivering something rare: serious capability paired with a genuinely pleasant driving experience.

With 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, the numbers alone tell a strong story. But the real magic happens at low RPMs. The 3.0L Duramax delivers 95 percent of its peak torque at just 1,500 RPM, meaning you never have to push the engine hard to get things moving. That low-end pull is especially valuable when you’re hauling a trailer or loaded down with gear. The engine simply goes to work without drama, making it a natural fit for anyone towing a camper, boat, or utility trailer on a regular basis.

Here’s a figure that might surprise you: the 3.0L Duramax actually produces more torque than the 6.2L V8 (495 lb-ft versus 460 lb-ft). For drivers who frequently haul or tow, that extra twist at low speeds makes a meaningful difference, especially on long highway stretches or when climbing grades with a loaded trailer.

And because the engine doesn’t have to work as hard to move heavy loads, fuel efficiency stays strong even when you’re pulling weight. “This engine is great for anyone who has a moderate sized RV or another similar trailer, or someone who likes to take road trips,” Barta explains.

Speaking of road trips, the 3.0L Duramax is a standout performer when it comes to range. The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe 2WD equipped with this engine offers an EPA-estimated 624 miles of highway range, along with best-in-class ratings of 22 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. Fewer fill-ups means more time on the road and less time at the pump.

Nearly two decades of diesel development show in how refined this engine has become. Advanced emission control technologies, including an Exhaust Gas Recirculation system that cools and recirculates exhaust gases for cleaner combustion, make the 3.0L Duramax one of the cleanest diesel engines GM has ever produced. The result is a smooth, quiet ride that consistently surprises first-time diesel drivers.

A few years ago, during the rapid rise of electric vehicles, the Chevrolet Bolt and its sibling helped make EV ownership more accessible than ever. But the story didn’t end there. Behind the scenes, Chevrolet was already developing the next chapter — and now the all-new 2027 Bolt is ready to make its return. At Maritime Chevrolet, we’re excited to see this popular EV come back with meaningful upgrades while staying true to its mission: delivering affordable electric driving for everyday drivers.

While the new Bolt’s exterior design will feel familiar to fans, resembling the previous Bolt EUV, the real transformation lies beneath the surface. The 2027 model features updated front and rear styling along with new electrical architecture and a more efficient electric powertrain that gives the Bolt a fresh start.

One of the biggest improvements comes in charging capability. Earlier versions of the Bolt were limited to relatively slow fast-charging speeds, but the new model adopts a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that dramatically improves performance. The 65-kWh battery can now accept up to 150 kW of fast-charging power, allowing drivers to charge from 10% to 80% in about 25 minutes. It also includes a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, giving drivers access to a broader charging network.

The Bolt’s electric motor has also been upgraded, borrowing technology from the Chevrolet Equinox EV. The result is 210 horsepower, slightly more than the previous model, along with improved acceleration thanks to revised gearing.

Inside, the cabin receives a modern refresh with a redesigned dashboard, a customizable digital instrument cluster, and a larger 11.3-inch infotainment display powered by integrated Google technology. Built-in apps provide navigation and music streaming, with eight years of data included to keep drivers connected on the road.

Despite the new technology, the Bolt remains focused on value. The 2027 model offers an estimated 262 miles of EPA-rated driving range and starts at $28,995, making it one of the most affordable electric vehicles available today. For drivers who want additional comfort and style, the RS trim adds heated and ventilated seats, blacked-out accents, a heated steering wheel, and other premium touches.

Even better, Chevrolet’s advanced Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is available on both trims, making the Bolt one of the most affordable ways to experience this cutting-edge feature.
