In a resounding victory, the all-new Chevrolet Colorado has emerged as the winner of MotorTrend’s prestigious “Truck of the Year” award for 2024. This marks the third time the Colorado has clinched the coveted “Golden Calipers,” with previous wins in 2015 and 2016. MotorTrend applauded the Colorado for its contemporary interior, versatile bed, robust feature offerings, and outstanding off-road capabilities across its lineup.

Ed Loh, Head of Editorial at MotorTrend Group, commended the Colorado lineup’s exceptional performance both on and off-road, especially highlighting the prowess of the ZR2 model. Loh stated, “Earning MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year award is a testament to the Colorado’s all-encompassing excellence across various terrains and utility needs.”

A key accolade in the automotive industry, the Truck of the Year title involves rigorous competition, with the 2024 Colorado surpassing 13 other models. Criteria for evaluation include safety, design innovation, and performance in fulfilling intended functions.

Chevrolet’s Vice President, Scott Bell, expressed delight at the recognition, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to see Colorado take home the MotorTrend Truck of the Year award.” He emphasized the all-new Colorado’s elevated performance, capability, and refinement across all trims, reinforcing the truck’s versatility.

The Colorado lineup comprises the Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71, ZR2, and the Trail Boss model, catering to a diverse range of customer needs. With three distinct chassis stances optimizing each model’s capabilities, the Colorado lineup provides choices tailored for various work and recreational activities, including off-roading.

This victory follows MotorTrend’s recent recognition of the Chevrolet Blazer EV as its SUV of the Year. Remarkably, this dual win marks the first time MotorTrend has bestowed both of its prestigious awards on a single brand, with Colorado and Blazer EV securing top positions in their respective segments.

Manufactured at General Motors’ Wentzville Assembly in Missouri, the 2024 Colorado is now open for orders across all trims, with trucks expected to reach dealerships in early 2024.
