Colorado Makes Cars.com Best Cars for Car Seats List

The 2024 Chevy Colorado has continued to wow our customers since inception. The Colorado also stands out as the only pickup truck to earn a spot on Cars.com’s “Best Cars for Car Seats” list for 2024 models. This recognition highlights the Colorado’s ease of installing various types of car seats in its cabin, making it an ideal choice for families.

The 2024 Chevy Trax also made the list in the two-row SUV category, receiving slightly lower ratings compared to the Colorado. The Colorado’s inclusion underscores its versatility and family-friendly design, even in a segment not typically associated with car seat compatibility.

Cars.com graded the vehicles on its list across several categories related to car seat installation and attachment. The 2024 Chevy Colorado earned two A grades and three B grades, demonstrating strong performance in key areas. Specifically, the Colorado received A grades for its Latch system, which refers to the ease of using the lower anchors and top tether anchors to install a child seat, and for forward-facing convertible (FFC) child seats, which are typically used for children over two years old who have outgrown rear-facing seats.

The B grades were given for the installation and use of infant, rear-facing convertible (RFC), and booster seats. While the infant category is self-explanatory, the RFC category assesses the ease of installing rear-facing child seats for younger children, usually up to around two years old. The booster category evaluates the use of high-back booster seats for children aged four to eight who weigh less than 80 pounds.

Cars.com conducted its testing using a Chicco KeyFit 30 infant car seat, a Graco Contender 65 convertible, and a Graco TurboBooster. The booster seat was placed behind the driver, while the other seats were installed behind the passenger for convenience testing.

In related news, while the Chevy Trailblazer didn’t make the Cars.com list, it was recognized by Consumer Reports as one of the best vehicles for installing three child seats, showcasing yet another child-seat-friendly option from Chevrolet.
