Chevy Corvette

Celebrated as the first mass-produced mid-engined Vette in history, the C8 Corvette continues to garner acclaim. Consumer Reports, renowned for its admiration of the performance machine, consistently ranked the Corvette as the most satisfying vehicle to own. Once again, the Chevy Corvette claims the top spot among the cars that people love the most.

As reported by Consumer Reports, the C8 Corvette achieved an impressive score of 93/100, surpassing competitors like the Rivian R1T, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Lexus NX Plug-In Hybrid, which received scores of 88/100, 88/100, and 87/100, respectively. On the other hand, some of the least satisfying models include the Kia Sorento Hybrid, Nissan Sentra, and Volkswagen Taos, scoring 42/100, 39/100, and 38/100, respectively.

The data for this survey was drawn from the results of the 2023 Annual Auto Surveys, incorporating feedback from owners of over 330,000 vehicles spanning model years 2021 to 2023, including a few 2024 models. The owner satisfaction score is based on respondents indicating whether or not they would repurchase their vehicle in its current specification.

Notably, the Corvette C8 is now available in various configurations, including the C8 Stingray, C8 Z06, and C8 E-Ray. The Corvette Stingray features the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, delivering 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the Corvette Z06 boasts the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, producing 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The Corvette E-Ray combines the LT2 engine with an electric motor on the front axle, resulting in a total output of 655 horsepower.

In terms of structure, all C8 Chevy Corvette models are built on the GM Y2 platform, with production taking place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky. The Corvette’s ongoing popularity and satisfaction ratings underscore its enduring appeal among automotive enthusiasts.

EV Charging

Happy New Year! We’re happy to have you on this journey with us as we look forward to the road trips yet to come. For those of you who are looking ahead in 2024 and may be interested upgrading your vehicle, here are some tips and things to consider:

What is your trade worth?
This question can be a tough one, especially if you haven’t been in the market for quite some time. With trade values still at an all-time high, now may be the time to take advantage of your trade equity before values decline. Click here to get your trade value in just 60 seconds.

Is your GM lease almost over?
If you’re currently in a GM lease that is close to its end, you may want to consider an early lease termination. With persistent high trade values, your current lease may be worth more as a trade into your next lease or purchase. This can be also beneficial if you’re close to going over your allotted mileage – you’ll be able to skip the extra costs you may end up with. Plus, you can return any GM lease with us, even if you didn’t buy it from our dealership.

Looking to switch to EV?
It may seem a little daunting to make the switch into an electric vehicle, but you would be surprised how easy it actually is. Most of your charging will be done at home thanks to our partnership with Qmerit. The installation is quick and easy, and once it’s complete, you’ll never have to worry about waiting for others to charge in public. If you find yourself in a location that prevents you from installing your own charger, Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers make for convenient charging options throughout the country.
Plus, right now you can receive up to $7,500 in Tax Incentives to make your switch into EV as affordable as possible. You’ll be able to enjoy fuel savings of up to 60%, future maintenance savings of up to 50%, and zero tailpipe emissions. Our Chevy EV models are continuing to expand with our current Bolt, Bolt EUV and Blazer EV options, along with the upcoming Equinox EV and Silverado EV.

Have the perfect Chevy in mind?
We know how crazy the automotive industry has been when it comes to our inventory. For 2024, our inventory is predicted to expand even more than it already has – allowing you to find the perfect vehicle for every family and budget.

Plus, you can also take advantage of our Build to Order program – you’ll be able to create the perfect Chevy from the ground up, including color palette, trim, finishes and accessories. Our Chevrolet Specialists will help you get everything squared away, rather than having to wait for your perfect vehicle to show up in our inventory. Click here to learn more about our Build To Order program.

All that being said, it can never be too early to start the car buying, selling, or ordering process. We are recommending that for the best value and to make sure you get what you want, you start looking as much as a year in advance to maximize product availability and get the most for your money. Even if you don’t plan on buying for 6-18 months, starting a conversation with one of our client advisors can help you put a plan together to get the most for your current car, and make sure we have what you are looking for when you are ready. For those of you not quite ready to upgrade, we are expanding our Pick-up and Delivery Service and anticipate greater availability of courtesy vehicles this year to enhance your ownership and service experience.

Thank you as always for choosing Maritime Chevrolet.
We look forward to serving you and your family in 2024 and beyond!

Chevy Colorado

The Chevrolet Colorado is at it again – gaining recognition for its refined capability, performance, technological features, and overall value, securing the title of the 2024 Best Truck of the Year from the Hispanic Motor Press Association (HMPA). The prestigious award was presented at AutoMobility LA by HMPA president Ricardo Rodriguez-Long and a distinguished panel of judges during the 14th annual HMPA program.

Comprising independent Hispanic automotive media, content creators, and industry influencers, the 2024 jury panel evaluated vehicles based on various criteria, including overall design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, infotainment integration, interior design, environmental considerations, driver satisfaction, and price.

Chevrolet takes pride in this recognition, especially given the popularity of pickup trucks among Hispanic consumers. The 2023 Colorado lineup encompasses Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71, ZR2, and the inaugural Trail Boss models. With three distinct chassis stances optimizing each model’s capabilities, the lineup provides a diverse range of choices tailored to how customers utilize their trucks for work and recreational activities, including off-roading.

Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, president of Hispanic Motor Press, commented, “As Latinos, we look for the most value in every one of our purchases. We have immense buying power and are discerning customers when it comes to selecting vehicles for ourselves, our families, and our lifestyles. HMP recognizes the brands that continuously meet the needs of our community and deliver quality, reliable products.”

For many across the U.S., winter weather means snow, ice and whistling wind. As the weather gets colder, it is likely your children will want to stay inside most of the time. When children are stuck indoors, however, cabin fever can set in quickly. To keep your children from being bored or glued to the television on a cold winter’s day, consider these five indoor activities you can do as a family.

Bake cookies
Most kids love cookies, especially when they have helped bake them. Including children in this fun activity is easy. Keep your child away from the hot oven by asking him or her to mix the cookie dough together. If there are multiple children lending a helping hand, give each one an ingredient to add. An added benefit is that the hot oven will make the kitchen toasty, creating a great atmosphere for snow day fun.

Play board games
Pull out the family’s favorite board games and have a fun family bonding experience. According to Parenting.com, educational board games, such as Uno and Connect Four, are a great way to bring the family together and help children learn regardless of their age. Letting the children pick from a pile of educational games makes it easy to show how fun learning can be.

Finger paint masterpieces
Finger painting is fun for children of all ages. After all, what child doesn’t like to get a bit messy? PopSugar suggests adding a few puffy stickers to the child’s paper before he or she starts to paint. This helps boost the child’s fine-motor skills, especially when the paint has dried and it is time to take the puffy stickers off. Tailor the stickers to reflect the season, too, using snowflakes and snowmen.

Build a fort
Blanket forts give children the opportunity to use their imaginations. Use sheets and pillows to build a castle your child must defend from a dragon or build a spaceship to take to Mars. A fort encourages children to use logic when building, while also allowing them to flex their creative side, making it a great indoor activity for a cold day.

Make your own play dough
Making homemade play dough is surprisingly easy. It requires only a few household ingredients and takes 10 minutes to make. Here’s an easy recipe from Living Well Mom to follow:

Ingredients:
1 cup of flour
1 cup of water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/3 cup salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Food coloring

Directions:
Combine the flour, cream of tartar and salt into a 2-quart saucepan. Then, add the water and vegetable oil. Place this on your stove and turn your stove’s burner on medium/low and stir. Add the food coloring of your choice as soon as the mixture begins to solidify. Keep stirring until the dough starts gathering together around the spoon. Then, set the finished product on waxed paper or a plate to cool. Once it is thoroughly cooled, the dough is ready to play with.

If it is cold outside, don’t worry about sending the kids outdoors to play. Instead, keep them entertained with these great indoor activities. Share an experience that is fun and educational with any of these terrific ways to spend a cold day.

Chevy Colorado

In a resounding victory, the all-new Chevrolet Colorado has emerged as the winner of MotorTrend’s prestigious “Truck of the Year” award for 2024. This marks the third time the Colorado has clinched the coveted “Golden Calipers,” with previous wins in 2015 and 2016. MotorTrend applauded the Colorado for its contemporary interior, versatile bed, robust feature offerings, and outstanding off-road capabilities across its lineup.

Ed Loh, Head of Editorial at MotorTrend Group, commended the Colorado lineup’s exceptional performance both on and off-road, especially highlighting the prowess of the ZR2 model. Loh stated, “Earning MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year award is a testament to the Colorado’s all-encompassing excellence across various terrains and utility needs.”

A key accolade in the automotive industry, the Truck of the Year title involves rigorous competition, with the 2024 Colorado surpassing 13 other models. Criteria for evaluation include safety, design innovation, and performance in fulfilling intended functions.

Chevrolet’s Vice President, Scott Bell, expressed delight at the recognition, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to see Colorado take home the MotorTrend Truck of the Year award.” He emphasized the all-new Colorado’s elevated performance, capability, and refinement across all trims, reinforcing the truck’s versatility.

The Colorado lineup comprises the Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71, ZR2, and the Trail Boss model, catering to a diverse range of customer needs. With three distinct chassis stances optimizing each model’s capabilities, the Colorado lineup provides choices tailored for various work and recreational activities, including off-roading.

This victory follows MotorTrend’s recent recognition of the Chevrolet Blazer EV as its SUV of the Year. Remarkably, this dual win marks the first time MotorTrend has bestowed both of its prestigious awards on a single brand, with Colorado and Blazer EV securing top positions in their respective segments.

Manufactured at General Motors’ Wentzville Assembly in Missouri, the 2024 Colorado is now open for orders across all trims, with trucks expected to reach dealerships in early 2024.

Chevy Trax

Another amazing win for the Chevrolet lineup – the brand-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax has clinched a prestigious spot on Car and Driver‘s esteemed 2024 10Best Trucks and SUVs list, recognizing vehicles that deliver exceptional value and an outstanding driving experience. In an extensive evaluation encompassing over 80 new SUVs, trucks, and cars, Car and Driver‘s testing rigorously assessed each contender. To qualify for consideration, all award-winning vehicles must be available for purchase in January 2024 and have a starting MSRP under $110,000, inclusive of federal tax and destination charges.

The 2024 Trax earned accolades for its blend of practicality, technology, and affordability. Car and Driver‘s Editor-in-Chief, Tony Quiroga, emphasized the unique aspect of the 10Best competition, allowing returning winners to compete. He stated, “Earning a spot on the list means the vehicle isn’t just the best of what’s new, but that it’s the best of what’s for sale.”

Brad Franz, Director of Chevrolet Car and Crossover Marketing, expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “We are honored to see the 2024 Chevrolet Trax recognized with this award.” He highlighted the 2024 Trax as a tech-forward choice, combining the practicality of a compact car with the utility of an SUV, offering a suite of standard features at an affordable price point. The 2024 Trax is available in five distinctive trims—LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV—each providing unique design, capability, and content choices. With a starting MSRP of just $21,495, the 2024 Trax aligns with Chevrolet’s commitment to affordability.

Since its launch earlier this year, the Trax has rapidly gained popularity and, when paired with the Chevrolet Trailblazer, leads its segment in retail share.

Chevrolet’s success extends beyond the Trax, as both the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and E-Ray secured spots on Car and Driver’s 10Best Cars list. Franz expressed pride in these achievements, highlighting the continued excellence of the eighth-generation Corvette. He noted, “The E-Ray is not only the quickest Corvette ever but also the first-ever Corvette with an electrified powertrain and all-wheel drive, propelling this storied vehicle into a new age.”

Tahoe & Suburban

The industry’s best-selling large SUVs are getting a head-to-toe refresh – sleek exteriors, spacious interiors, and a more powerful diesel engine option are set to make the all-new 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban the best of their kind. Together, the Tahoe and the Suburban have been leading their vehicle segment for over 45 years as cultural icons, with the new 2025 refresh having been truly designed for its customers.

The new 2025 Tahoe and Suburban are no exception; key highlights and features include:

  • Freshened exterior design with bolder signature lighting and all-new lighting animations, new available 24-inch wheels and more
  • New interior design centered on an all-new best-in-segment 17.7-inch-diagonal central touchscreen1, along with an enhanced High Country interior and additional refinements across the lineup
  • New, available second-generation 3.0L turbo-diesel Duramax engine with 10 percent more horsepower than current models, which will be available later in production
  • Ride and handling enhancements engineered for greater driving refinement
  • Enhanced safety and technology includes Connected Cameras3, a fully integrated network of cameras that allow customers to remotely view the interior and exterior of their vehicle, in addition to recording events like crash and theft. Some features may require an OnStar plan

On the Outside

The exteriors of the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban feature a fresh look with a new font-end design with bolder lightning that fit perfectly with the current updated Chevy lineup. All six trims — LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country — receive a new front fascia, with select trims offering unique design cues. The Z71 — one of the nameplates’ fastest-selling trims — incorporates skid plates and a high-approach front fascia, while the High Country leans in on a sport-luxury theme, with a sophisticated balance of black and Galvano chrome trim.

Highlights include:

  • More integrated appearance of the daytime running lights (DRLs), with a thinner yet more prominent look of the top DRL, thanks to an angled prism within the lighting signature that creates bold illumination in a sleek housing
  • The more prominent lighting signature gives the vehicles a greater sense of personality, with the Premier and High Country trims further distinguished with standard welcome and walk-away lighting animations as well as animated swipe turn signals
  • Dual C-shaped light designs maintain the family appearance seen in other Chevrolet vehicles

On the Inside

These new SUVs are built with more space in mind – a technology focused interior with sweeping lines and a lower intranet panel to increase the perceived space in the front of the vehicle. An all-new standard 17.7 in-diagonal freeform infotainment screen takes the center stage with an 11 in-diagonal driver infotainment center to display everything you need behind the wheel.

Highlights include:

  • Redesigned center console with new storage options and a repositioned, more convenient wireless charging pad
  • New steering wheel design
  • Unique interior with Victory Red stitching on RST and all-new Jet Black/Sky Cool Gray interior on Premier
  • More sophisticated décor across the lineup, including Piano Black and Galvano chrome, as well as more soft-touch and wrapped materials on select trims
  • Upgraded and more refined High Country interior, with authentic wood décor — a first for Tahoe and Suburban — along with wingtip perforated leather seating surfaces, a unique steering wheel, “High Country” identification and a unique Jet Black/Mocha color combination

More Powerful Diesel Engine

New to the 2025 duo is a refined, second-generation 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel Duramax2, which offers more power for greater confidence on the road — particularly when trailering. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and is offered on all retail trims, including Z71 for the first time.

Previously seen on the Silverado 1500, this new engine is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of peak torque, increases of 10 percent and 7.6 percent, respectively, over the current diesel engine’s 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

A 5.3L gas V-8 remains the standard engine for LS, LT, RST, Z71 and Premier. The 6.2L V-8 is standard on High Country and available on RST, Z71 and Premier. The new diesel engine will be available in 2025 after initial launch.

Tow with Confidence

The Tahoe and Suburban wouldn’t be what they are without their towing abilities. Whether it’s a driver’s first time towing or they are a seasoned driver who tows frequently, Chevrolet’s suite of trailering technology upgrades boost confidence behind the wheel.

A Max Trailering package is available and on select trims includes a high-capacity radiator and cooling fan, an integrated trailer brake controller, Hitch View, Hill Decent Control, Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering, and the Chevrolet Trailering App. Tahoe and Suburban will also introduce the following new and enhanced features:

  • Trailer Tire Health, which helps prevent trailer tire blowouts with a trailer tire life monitor and over-speed warning
  • Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info, which offers anytime/anywhere access to the vehicle’s load rating
  • Forward Path Indication, which helps drivers navigate with their trailer with guidelines on the Surround View to indicate the width of the trailer and the trailer’s path. When the turn signal is activated, guidelines will show the driver the estimated turning path for both the vehicle and trailer
  • Boat Ramp Assist, which helps customers access a checklist and step-by-step instructions to prepare for towing, launching, and retrieving a boat, is newly available within the trailering app
  • Trailer Navigation, which calculates routes based on trailer size using built-in Google Maps
  • The 2025 Tahoe continues to offer max towing range of 8,400 lbs and Suburban offers 8,200 lbs.

Technology & Safety

The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban are set to lead the way in Chevrolet safety and driver awareness technology – including a new sensor that can detect certain types of motion in the vehicle, which can help identify if a passenger has been left in rear passenger areas of the vehicle.

Highlights include:

  • Interior Motion Detection – may detect certain types of micro-movements in the cabin. If movement is detected in the vehicle after it is in park and turned off, it can progressively escalate alerts to help raise awareness.
  • Connected Cameras – a fully integrated network of cameras that allow customers to remotely view the interior and exterior of their vehicle, including 360 degree views of the exterior.
  • Chevy Safety Assist — a suite of safety features and driver assistance technologies that include: Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, and IntelliBeam. Additional standard safety features include Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, HD Surround Vision, Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive.

  • AutoSense Power Liftgate: loading a Tahoe or Suburban is easier when the user’s arms are full by automatically opening the liftgate when it senses the key fob behind the vehicle.
  • The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban are connected by OnStar to elevate the in-vehicle experience with a variety of available safety, entertainment and convenience features, including Super Cruise functionality, 24/7 access to live OnStar advisors, on-demand vehicle diagnostics, HD streaming, and more.

Chevy Blazer EV

The recently unveiled Chevrolet Blazer EV has been rewarded with the coveted title of MotorTrend’s 2024 SUV of the Year, surpassing a field of 40 competitors to claim the prestigious “Golden Calipers.” MotorTrend attributes this achievement to the Blazer EV’s state-of-the-art technology, dynamic design, and groundbreaking powertrain options. This victory underscores Chevrolet’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge electric vehicles, a legacy initially recognized by MotorTrend’s 2017 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Bolt EV.

Ed Loh, MotorTrend Group’s Head of Editorial, praised the Blazer EV, stating, “Chevrolet has truly nailed the design and functionality with the Blazer EV, which looks and operates just as an industry-leading all-electric SUV should.”

The “SUV of the Year” title, a distinction MotorTrend reserves for vehicles exemplifying outstanding product excellence over the past 25 years, is a testament to the Blazer EV’s performance. Evaluated across six key criteria, including safety, design innovation, and intended function performance, the Blazer EV emerged as the epitome of a comprehensive package, earning approval from MotorTrend’s discerning panel of judges.

Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet, expressed excitement and honor at receiving this prestigious recognition for the Blazer EV. He remarked, “This vehicle takes convenience and customer choice to the next level, a major step in delivering on Chevrolet’s promise to provide an EV for everyone.”

The Blazer EV is available in multiple trims, including LT, RS, and Chevy’s first-ever electric SS. It features a 17.7-inch-diagonal customizable infotainment touchscreen, available front, rear, and all-wheel drive configurations. Notably, the Blazer EV recently received EPA certification for an impressive 324 miles on a full charge (RWD), further solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the electric SUV landscape.
