The legend of Corvette performance has officially entered a new era. The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X, the most advanced Corvette ever produced, has claimed its place as the quickest American production car, and one of the fastest ways to conquer the quarter mile for under a million dollars.

After extensive real-world testing, the ZR1X completed final validation in October 2025 at US 131 Motorsports Park, a setting that mirrors how Corvette owners truly push their vehicles. On a prepped drag strip, using pump gas, standard-equipment tires, and a production, 50-state street-legal calibration, the ZR1X delivered astonishing results:

• Quarter mile: 8.675 seconds at 159 mph
• 0–60 mph: 1.68 seconds
• Peak acceleration: 1.75G, reaching 60 mph in under 100 feet

“This is exactly the type of performance we envisioned when we made the revolutionary move to a mid-engine platform,” said GM President Mark Reuss.

What makes these numbers even more impressive is their consistency. Equipped with its standard aero configuration, Michelin PS4S tires, and available carbon fiber wheels, the test vehicle completed multiple back-to-back quarter-mile runs all under 8.8 seconds, proving this level of performance is no fluke.

At the heart of the 2026 Corvette ZR1X is a twin-turbo LT7 V8 engine paired with a front-axle electric motor, producing a staggering 1,250 horsepower through an electrified all-wheel-drive system. This blend of raw power and advanced technology places the ZR1X in elite company—while remaining dramatically more attainable than many multi-million-dollar hypercars.

Much of this performance comes down to Corvette’s Custom Launch Control, standard across the lineup from Stingray to ZR1X. The system manages tire slip, clutch engagement, and launch RPM to help drivers extract maximum acceleration with confidence. Even on an unprepped surface, the ZR1X continues to impress, completing the quarter mile in 8.99 seconds and reaching 0–60 mph in 1.89 seconds when equipped with the available ZTK Performance Package.

Chevrolet performance met American pride and charitable giving in a remarkable way at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. On January 24, a bespoke, one-of-one Stars & Steel–inspired Corvette ZR1X sold for an impressive $2.6 million, with 100 percent of the hammer price benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

The special edition was based on the fastest car from an American manufacturer to lap the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it not only a rare collector’s piece, but also a symbol of American performance and innovation. The donation supports Tunnel to Towers’ mission of providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children, building custom smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, and offering housing and services for homeless veterans.

“To honor those who serve, Chevrolet created a one-of-one edition of America’s quickest production car, the Corvette ZR1X,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet. “We’re proud to know the winning bid will go directly to supporting first responders and veterans in need across the United States.”

The winning bidder was Rick Hendrick, chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group and owner of Hendrick Motorsports. His winning purchase includes the hand-painted Stars & Steel–inspired ZR1X finished in a custom Dark Satin Steel exterior, blue brake calipers, a Santorini Blue interior, and blue accents on the carbon aero rear wing. The experience also includes the opportunity to help build the twin-turbo V8 engine, the first-ever Corvette delivery at the GM Design Dome, and a collection of curated memorabilia.

General Motors and Chevrolet have supported the Tunnel to Towers Foundation for more than a decade, helping raise over $11.6 million for wounded veterans even before this auction. In total, Chevrolet’s charity auctions of eighth-generation Corvettes at Barrett-Jackson events have now generated $15.5 million for charitable causes.

For over 70 years, Toys for Tots, a national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has brought joy and hope to less fortunate children during the holiday season. At Maritime Chevy, we believe that the strength of a community is measured by how we come together in times of need. Many of our team members, friends, and family have been deeply affected by the recent hurricane in Jamaica, and we’re asking for your help to make a difference.

Throughout the month of November, we’re collecting donations to send care packages directly to those impacted by the storm. Every contribution, big or small, will help families rebuild and recover in the aftermath of this devastating event.

We’re accepting a wide range of non-perishable food items, including:

tea, chocolate mix, juice mix, rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, ketchup, pasta sauce, pancake mix, syrup, salt, spices, pasta, canned goods, boxed mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, evaporated milk, condensed milk, oats, and dry cereal.

We’re also collecting essential non-food items such as:

Children’s clothing and shoes, diapers and wipes, rubbing alcohol, bed sheets and blankets, feminine hygiene products, bug repellent, first aid kits, hand sanitizer, bath towels, batteries, flashlights, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

Any donation, big or small, can be dropped off directly to the dealership any time during November.
