If you’ve been considering making the switch to an electric vehicle (EV), there’s never been a better time to take the leap. Whether you’re eyeing a brand-new model or a reliable pre-owned option, EVs deliver remarkable value, lower ownership costs, and an exceptional driving experience. Let’s take a closer look at the reasons why choosing an EV today makes so much sense:

Significant Cost Savings

One of the most compelling reasons to buy an EV, especially a pre-owned one, is the incredible cost savings. Today’s used EV market offers unbeatable value, with average prices hovering around $33,645. That’s nearly half the price many models commanded during their peak in 2022. And the savings don’t stop there. If you’re purchasing a used EV priced under $25,000, you could be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $4,000, making your investment even more affordable. Combined with lower fuel costs compared to gasoline vehicles, EVs offer long-term financial benefits that are hard to ignore.

Low Maintenance & Long Battery Life

Electric vehicles are engineered for simplicity and durability. Because they have fewer moving parts than traditional gas-powered cars, EVs experience less wear and tear. That means fewer trips to the shop for oil changes, exhaust repairs, or transmission issues because EVs don’t need them! Even better, most EV batteries are built to last 10 years or more, and they typically come with robust warranties that cover the battery for 8–10 years. This gives EV owners added confidence and helps keep maintenance costs low over the life of the vehicle.

Enhanced Driving Experience

From the moment you press the accelerator, you’ll feel the difference an EV offers. Thanks to instant torque, electric vehicles deliver quick, smooth acceleration without the noise or vibration of a combustion engine. The result? A driving experience that’s both quiet and thrilling. Whether you’re navigating city streets or cruising down the highway, EVs provide responsive handling and a level of comfort that enhances every journey.

Certified Pre-Owned Peace of Mind

If you’re leaning toward a used EV, a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) model can be a smart choice. CPO electric vehicles come with added assurance, including extended warranties, roadside assistance, and comprehensive inspections performed by factory-trained technicians. This means you can drive off with confidence, knowing that your pre-owned EV meets high-quality standards and has been thoroughly vetted for reliability.

A Greener Choice for the Future

Beyond the personal benefits, choosing an electric vehicle helps support a cleaner, more sustainable future. By driving an EV, you’re reducing your carbon footprint, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and contributing to improved air quality in your community.

Ready to make the switch? Whether you’re interested in a new EV or want to explore our certified pre-owned selection, our team is here to help you find the right vehicle for your needs and budget. Click here to schedule your test drive and experience the future of driving for yourself!

Chevrolet’s vision for a cleaner, smarter future takes a big leap forward with the 2025 BrightDrop, a battery-electric cargo van engineered specifically for last-mile delivery needs. First revealed by General Motors at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show, BrightDrop has steadily generated buzz. Now, with public sales open, these innovative electric vans are ready to hit the road in greater numbers.

The BrightDrop 400 gets its name from its impressive cargo capacity — 400 cubic feet of space and a maximum payload of 3,710 lbs., all on a 153-inch wheelbase. Need more room? The BrightDrop 600 variant stretches the wheelbase to 183 inches, offering 600 cubic feet of cargo volume with a slightly lower payload capacity.

Chevrolet offers two battery options to suit your delivery routes: Max Range Battery with up to 272 miles combined city/highway range with all-wheel drive, and Standard Battery with an estimated 193 miles in the city and 151 miles on the highway. These range options help tailor the BrightDrop to various fleet needs, from dense urban deliveries to longer suburban routes.

The BrightDrop was designed with commercial efficiency and safety in mind. Delivery Mode streamlines the process. With the press of a button, the van’s cabin lights activate, the bulkhead door unlocks, and (if equipped) power doors on the curbside and bulkhead automatically open when parked — then close and lock when you shift into drive.

You can deliver with peace of mind with over 20 standard safety features including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian/cyclist braking, forward collision alert, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree camera system for enhanced awareness. Operators can open/close doors via steering wheel buttons or key fob, minimizing manual effort and improving workflow.

Inside, the BrightDrop offers an 11.3-inch infotainment system with built-in Google apps for easy navigation and connectivity. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, though users may find that using BrightDrop’s native Google Maps app provides a clearer directional view than CarPlay’s version.

The BrightDrop drives like a true EV — quiet, responsive, and with smooth acceleration. You can also enjoy excellent visibility thanks to a massive windshield, large side mirrors, and camera-assisted blind spot monitoring. Low step-in height and one-pedal driving add to driver ease during frequent stops.

With its zero tailpipe emissions, customizable cargo space, and advanced safety and delivery tech, the 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop is positioned to transform last-mile delivery. Its sleek, modern exterior doubles as a perfect canvas for business branding, while its durable, practical interior helps drivers stay focused on the job.

You have enough on your mind without worrying about any unexpected surprises. That’s why we created the Chevy Protection Plans – to provide additional coverage on top of your manufacturer’s warranty. We’ll get your Chevy back on the road with any parts or labor covered and taken care of, leaving you with less to worry about. Don’t get fooled by third-party calls and commercials promising coverage that doesn’t deliver. With Chevy Protection, you can drive confidently knowing that your vehicle is backed by the people who know it best.

With labor rates on the rise, repairing a vehicle is getting more and more expensive every year. With a Chevy Protection Plan, you have both part and price protection. Choose the only coverage that shares the same name as the vehicle you drive and move forward with confidence on the roads ahead – whether your vehicle is currently under warranty or not. With available interest-free financing when you choose Maritime Chevy, it’s easy for us to find a plan that meets your needs and budget.

The terms “vehicle service contract,” “warranty,” and “protection plan” are sometimes incorrectly used interchangeably in the industry, which can create some confusion around what each one means. Limited warranties and service contracts are different, and it’s important to understand the differences when shopping for the right plan. A vehicle service contract covers failure of specific parts. It can be added at the time of vehicle purchase at an additional cost, or any time up to 8 years or 100,000 miles. It also may be transferred if the vehicle is sold, or you may cancel it at any time.

EV Protection Plan

Your Chevy EV is built to be bold. It’s an exceptional electric vehicle that demands exceptional coverage such as the Chevy EV Protection Plan – a more convenient way for you to purchase coverage that goes above and beyond your manufacturer’s warranty with an available $0 deductible. Protecting yourself from potentially expensive covered repair costs doesn’t have to be complicated.

  • The only EV Protection Plan endorsed by Chevrolet and backed by General Motors
  • Available on new, pre-owned, or leased Chevrolet electric vehicles
  • Available $250 deductible with 0% interest on select models
  • Platinum Protection provides coverage for up to 96 months or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, on up to 1,500 parts
  • GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco replacement parts
  • 24-hour Roadside Assistance, including towing reimbursement
  • Coverage includes diagnostics and fluid replacement in conjunction with a covered repair
  • For covered services, return to your Chevrolet Dealer who knows your EV best

Gap Coverage

If you have an accident and your vehicle is considered a total loss, most standard insurance policies will pay only the current market value of your vehicle, not for what is owed or the deductible. This can leave you responsible for the difference. GAP Coverage can help cover this difference.

For 2026, the entire Chevrolet Corvette lineup (Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, and the upcoming ZR1) receives a major interior update, featuring larger, more advanced displays, refined materials, and a reimagined cabin designed for driver engagement and comfort.

The cabin of the new 2026 Corvette welcomes both driver and passenger, beginning with a new three-screen layout and reimagined console design. The updated driver-centric cockpit includes a larger 12.7-inch diagonal center console display, an expanded 14-inch diagonal driver information center, and an all-new 6.6-inch diagonal touchscreen auxiliary display to the left of the steering wheel.

This layout enhances functionality and delivers a modern, driver-focused environment. Controls have been repositioned for greater convenience, including a new wireless charging pad, an improved volume knob, and HVAC controls that create a more open layout between the driver and passenger. Additional refinements include ambient-lit cupholders, aluminum trim on higher trims, and a new USB-C port on the passenger side.

The ZR1 and select trims offer a new carbon fiber display hood, complementing other performance-oriented options. Corvette’s updated display graphics now include Tour, Sport, and Track modes with sharper visuals and customizable layouts.

The optional Performance App, previously exclusive to the E-Ray, is now available across the entire lineup. It tracks power delivery, acceleration times, G-force, tire conditions, and key engine vitals. This data can be viewed on the new auxiliary display or transferred to the main display for enhanced visibility.

The available Performance Data Recorder has been overhauled with a user-friendly interface and sharper video capture, allowing drivers to analyze their laps in detail with features like real-time speed tracing, side-by-side playback, and on-screen tips.

All 2026 Corvettes feature a custom infotainment system with Google Built-in, enabling voice-activated control over vehicle settings, navigation, climate, media, messaging, and more. When parked, drivers and passengers can enjoy streaming services and apps such as HBO Max, Prime Video, GameSnacks, and Chrome through Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included.

“Corvette is the ultimate American sports car, and with these updates, it’s ready to lead the luxury performance segment well into the future,” said Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet.

With its bold new interior and performance-driven enhancements, the 2026 Corvette lineup reaffirms its place at the forefront of American automotive excellence.

Kyle Larson delivered a commanding performance at Kansas Speedway on May 10, 2025, powering his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet to a dominant victory. After securing the pole position, Larson quickly took control and led 221 of the race’s 267 laps — marking one of the most dominant wins of the NASCAR Cup Series season.

The win was Larson’s third of 2025, putting him alongside Christopher Bell as the only drivers with three victories so far this year. It also marked Larson’s third career win at Kansas and the 32nd of his Cup Series career, tying him with NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett for 29th on the all-time wins list.

“Great car, great execution today,” Larson said. “Glad to not win by an inch this time. A little bit safer gap. Congrats to everyone at Hendrick Motorsports and the engine shop.”

Larson swept both of the race’s opening stages, bringing his stage win total to eight for the season—a new record for the first 12 races. He now leads the Cup Series standings by 35 points over teammate William Byron, whose race ended early after a blown tire relegated the No. 24 Chevy to a 24th-place finish.

Chase Elliott, in the No. 9 Chevrolet, looked like Larson’s closest challenger, leading 29 laps. However, a misstep on pit road cost Elliott 11 positions late in the race, and he was unable to recover, ultimately finishing 15th.

Looking ahead, Larson now turns his attention to one of the most ambitious challenges in motorsports: the Indy Double. Over Memorial Day weekend, he will attempt to compete in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day—a test of endurance and precision that few drivers have attempted.

With his current momentum, all eyes will be on Larson as he aims to make history once again.

Chevy Truck Towing an RV

We know that the future of automotive is looking to be a little daunting. At Maritime Chevy, our number one goal is to ensure that all of our inventory remains as fairly priced as possible and to take care of our customers. We also wish to be as transparent as possible with our inventory, as well as what the future could hold.

New tariffs, taxes on imported goods, have been announced for 2025 targeting a range of products, including automotive parts and vehicles manufactured outside the United States. While these tariffs aim to support domestic manufacturing, they may lead to higher prices on certain vehicles built abroad.

The impact on Chevrolet pricing depends on where the vehicle is assembled. Vehicles built outside the U.S. could face price increases, while those made domestically will likely remain unaffected. We have plenty of inventory on the ground that has not been impacted by recent price increases. In addition, we will continue to receive vehicles that are not subject to these price increases because they are being built right here in the US. If a price increase on a vehicle is unavoidable, we’ll do everything in our power to mitigate the impact on you and provide as much value as possible.

Many of Chevy’s most popular and trusted models are proudly assembled in the United States, and therefore, not subject to these new tariffs. Some of these models include the Chevrolet Silverado, Colorado, Tahoe, Suburban, Corvette, and more.

Even with an uncertain future in play, you can still shop smart and save:

  • Take Advantage of Chevy Incentives: From cash rebates to low APR offers, Chevy frequently rolls out valuable promotions.
  • Explore Certified Pre-Owned: CPO vehicles come with excellent warranties and lower price tags.
  • Buy Early: With the potential for future price increases, acting sooner could be your best financial move.

At Maritime Chevy, we’re closely monitoring these changes and how they affect pricing, availability, and incentives. Our team is here to guide you through every step, so you can buy with confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.
